VeriFoods Testing Disclaimer

Effective Date: February 7, 2026

The test results displayed in this application are provided for informational purposes only. By accessing and using these results, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Test Results Variability

  1. Results shown represent only the specific sample tested at the time of testing.
  2. Test results may vary significantly between different samples of the same product.
  3. Results may vary between different testing methods, equipment, and laboratories.
  4. Environmental factors, storage conditions, time since testing, testing methodology, and other factors can all affect results.
  5. Testing methodology and equipment capabilities may have inherent limitations and margins of error.
  6. All products tested by VeriFoods are purchased from retailers within the United States. Test results reflect the specific formulations, ingredients, and manufacturing processes applicable to the US market. Identical products sold under the same brand and product name in other countries may have different formulations, ingredient sources, manufacturing facilities, and packaging materials. Regulatory requirements, permitted ingredients, and safety standards differ significantly between countries. Users outside the United States should not assume that test results apply to products purchased in their local market. Even within the United States, regional variations in product formulations may exist.

  • We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of these test results.
  • The results should not be considered a certification of product safety or quality.
  • Future batches or samples of the same product may yield different results.

Limitations of Use

  • These results are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.
  • The results should not be used as the sole basis for any medical, legal, or business decisions.
  • Users should conduct their own due diligence and seek professional advice when making decisions based on these results.
  • We do not accept responsibility for any actions taken based on these test results.

Time Sensitivity

  • Test results reflect conditions at the specific time of testing only.
  • The age of the test results should be considered when reviewing them.
  • Regular retesting may be necessary to maintain current information.

Laboratory Factors

  • Different laboratories may use varying methodologies and equipment.
  • Results may not be directly comparable between different testing facilities.
  • Testing protocols and standards may change over time.

Regulatory Compliance

  • These results do not guarantee compliance with local, state, or federal regulations.
  • Regulatory requirements and acceptable limits may vary by jurisdiction.
  • Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations in their jurisdiction.

Data Interpretation

  • Professional expertise may be required to properly interpret these results.
  • Context and additional factors should be considered when evaluating these results.
  • Users should not make assumptions about untested characteristics or properties.

Specific Testing Types

Pesticide Testing

  • Pesticide levels can vary based on growing conditions, application methods, and processing techniques.
  • Detection limits and methodologies for pesticides vary widely across testing facilities.
  • The absence of detected pesticides does not guarantee that a product is completely free of pesticide residues.

Heavy Metals Testing

  • Heavy metal content can vary based on soil conditions, water sources, and processing methods.
  • Natural products may naturally contain trace amounts of certain metals.
  • Different testing methodologies may have different sensitivities for metal detection.

PFAS Testing

  • VeriFoods tests for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in food products.
  • Testing covers a targeted panel of PFAS compounds; not all of the 12,000+ known PFAS compounds are tested.
  • PFAS are measured in parts per trillion (ppt), requiring highly sensitive analytical methods.
  • Detection limits vary by specific PFAS compound and testing methodology.
  • PFAS contamination may originate from food packaging, processing equipment, water sources used in manufacturing, or environmental contamination.
  • "PFAS-free" claims by manufacturers do not guarantee the absence of all PFAS compounds.
  • The science on PFAS health effects is rapidly evolving; current regulatory limits may not reflect the latest research.
  • Results represent PFAS levels in the specific sample tested and may not reflect all units of the same product.

Microplastics Testing

  • VeriFoods tests for microplastic contamination in food products.
  • Testing identifies microplastic particles within specific size ranges (typically 1 micrometer to 5 millimeters).
  • Nanoplastics (particles smaller than 1 micrometer) may not be detected by current testing methods.
  • Testing methodologies for microplastics in food products are still evolving and being standardized across the scientific community.
  • Microplastic contamination can originate from packaging, processing equipment, environmental exposure, and water sources.
  • Results are reported as particle count and/or mass per unit of product.
  • Different polymer types (PE, PP, PET, PS, etc.) may be identified where methodology permits.
  • No universally accepted regulatory limits currently exist for microplastics in food products.
  • The health implications of microplastic ingestion are an active area of scientific research.

Bisphenols Testing

  • VeriFoods tests for bisphenol compounds including BPA (Bisphenol A), BPS (Bisphenol S), BPF (Bisphenol F), and other bisphenol analogues where applicable.
  • Bisphenol contamination commonly originates from can linings, plastic packaging, thermal receipt paper residue, and food processing equipment.
  • Products marketed as "BPA-free" may contain alternative bisphenol compounds (BPS, BPF) that have raised similar health concerns in scientific literature.
  • Detection limits and testing methodologies vary by specific bisphenol compound.
  • Results reflect contamination levels at the time of testing; packaging changes or reformulations may alter bisphenol levels.
  • Regulatory standards for bisphenols in food vary by jurisdiction and are subject to change.

Other Testing Types

  • As VeriFoods expands its testing capabilities, additional testing types will be subject to the same limitations and disclaimers outlined in this document.
  • Each testing type may have unique considerations that users should take into account when interpreting results.

Score Methodology Disclaimer

  • VeriFoods assigns product safety scores based on a combination of laboratory test results, ingredient analysis, additive databases, regulatory standards, NOVA processing classification, and AI-powered analysis.
  • Scores are presented on a risk scale using color coding (green, yellow, orange, red) to indicate relative risk levels.
  • Individual analysis categories (heavy metals, pesticides, PFAS, microplastics, bisphenols, seed oils, additives, GMOs, nutrition) each have their own scoring criteria.
  • Scoring methodology is proprietary and subject to revision as new scientific data, testing methods, or regulatory standards emerge.
  • A "low risk" score does not guarantee product safety; a "high risk" score does not necessarily mean a product is unsafe for all consumers.
  • Products may be scored based on partial data when not all testing types have been completed.
  • Score changes may occur when new test results are added, methodology is updated, or regulatory standards change.
  • Scores represent VeriFoods' analytical assessment and are not endorsements or condemnations of specific products or brands.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VeriFoods Inc. disclaims all liability for any damages or losses arising from the use of, or reliance on, these test results. This includes, but is not limited to, direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, and consequential damages.

Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to update, modify, or correct test results if errors are discovered or new information becomes available. Users should regularly check for updated results and information.
